For solo weekend trips and section hikes in the woods, this is my go-to kit that's good to around freezing. Check out my trail guides and trip reports on my blog: http://cesarandthewoods.blogspot.com/

Warmer temps swap
At the height of summer I will swap in a summer quilt (2.5oz Apex), and a GG Airbeam sleep mat (discontinued, 1.0 R value), swap a pair of EE wind pants instead of the EE Torrid pants, nix my wrist gaiters, and nix my cook kit, which all cuts 480g/16.9oz to my BPW. During peak bug season I will also wear a head net and take bug spray, but this is worn and consumable weight.

Colder temps swap
If temps are slightly colder (e.g. late winter/early spring, max low around -4C/25F), then I pack my SOL Escape Lite bivy (used over my quilt), EE Sidekicks sleep socks, sit mat swapped for Thermarest sit mat (R 2.1), Borah vest swapped with an EE Torrid jacket, and swap in thicker merino hiking socks. All this adds 420g/14.8oz to my BPW.

Shelter swap
If I am hiking in a more isolated area, and/or if it is peak bug season, then at times I swap my tarp and bivy for my MLD Duomid (which is also my solo above tree line shelter). This adds 440g/15.5oz to my BPW.

FAK/repair kit extras
The listed FAK below is for trips on marked trails and/or not too far from civilization. For trips to more isolated areas, I add to my kit: +1 Melolin bandage, small roll of Leukoflex (waterproof medical tape), +3 Steri-Strips, a small tube of super glue, and +70cm of Gorilla tape. This adds 55g/1.9oz.
