South West Coast Path, St. Ives to Penzance

August 2025, 3 days/2 nights

I am aware that I could probably save 1kg/2.2lb with a different choice of "Big 3" (starred) but I think it's too late for this time around.

So, if I can get down to 5.5kg/12.2lb I will be well chuffed for this trip.

EDIT 1: ...I am going tonight, so I have chosen to include the big battery, flip-flops, bumbag, and the sun hoodie, (partly to see whether I use it!).

This takes me to from 5.49kg to 6.01kg BW - I suspect that I will come back with stuff I definitely didn't use and can skip in future.

Also my bag is only about 70% full so I may sell it on and get a 35l something for next time! Maybe the NH rock.

EDIT 2: In the end I took stuff adding up to 6.01kg BW, 1.96kg Worn, 2.46kg Consumable.

Only thing I didn't use was the Swedish Cloth (but should have done to wipe tent as it was dewy AF on the last morning).

Next time, I would:

BRING

  • +1 pants
  • the small fold-a-cup (for coffee sharing if I don't have a stove)
  • 1 more button-down
  • a couple of bin/plastic bags
  • some tights/thermals for sleeping

NOT bring

  • the sun hoodie
