3 days / 2 nights. Conditions: 40F Low, 85F High. Potential high winds. Sun exposure. Biting flies. Spotty water.

  • Campsites are within 1-2 miles of parking/potable water. Carried water can be supplemented with water from car/developed campgrounds.
  • Should be some water on-trail during day. Planning on 2L carry.
  • Food for Friday night through Sunday morning. Bring in tacos/burger/sandwich on Friday.
  • Canister stove required. May switch to cooked rice and make trail sushi.
  • Quilt decision based on overnight lows. Could be between upper 30s and lower 50s.
  • Larger tarp for camp comfort (low miles). May switch to Gatewood Cape if high winds are expected.
  • Bivy for mosquitos/horse flies
  • Might not need the pack frame, depending on water carry. Stripped Atom? Kumo? Vagabond?
  • Sun gloves are a placeholder for light mechanics gloves for slots/scrambles.
  • Pants/Gaiters for scrambling/off-trail.
  • If lows below 40, swap alpaca for lighter puffy.
