This gear list is what I will be taking for my 2019 thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. As I will be starting in February this list includes all of my cold weather gear (I plan to be warm/comfortable as I loathe being cold). I will jettison certain cold weather gear in Daleville, VA as I have a nephew who lives (literally) just off the trail. I will be adding a few summer items at that time. My weight should drop by a couple of pounds. I am still several months away from my AT endeavor and therefore I am still fine tuning my gear. I still have to add some items for a medical kit and I have yet to weigh some of my waterproof organization stuff sacks. This weight though is pretty close to what I expect. By hook or by crook, I plan to stay under 16 lbs for my winter base weight............................dang it...looks like I will be lucky to keep my winter weight under 17lbs.
