Description

General list of stuff that comes along most of the time. This is for east coast hiking/bikepacking with night temps above 40 degrees, maybe 35 at the lowest. Gold Stars are favorite items I highly recommend.

Peak summer temps I sometimes leave the Phoenix 20 at home and swap in a CCF pad to save half a pound. I can swap in a KS40 at 18oz for long trips or where durability is paramount. For Feb/November or ridgeline campsites I will also often include either my hoodless ghost whisperer (7.5oz) if insulation will be needed at camp or while sleeping or my mountain equipment eclipse hoody (10.5oz) for colder/wet trips when I will need camp insulation and added hiking (active) insulation. Generally I find my Helium II to be a sufficient enough layer on top of a merino T, my button up, and with the down hood to be enough for most conditions. In a real pinch I'll wear my quilt.
