Spring Cleaning. Get rid of any storage bags. Repackage everything! Go for short local hikes (or your backyard) to test out your gear and figure out for yourself if you even need to bring things like a fleece at all. I'm hitchhiking through populated areas, so I’ll buy food and refill water just before camping to keep my pack light. I'll mostly rely on 20 - 34 oz / 600 ml - 1 L) between stops. I’m also considering a Sawyer filter for emergencies, so I’m not just limited to hiking day trips. I dropped one pair of socks, the 1.1L bottle, and the 2 spare stakes. I wanted to get rid of the extra pair of underwear too, but it seems like a bad idea because of the hitchhiking part. ~ 1.82 lbs / 825 g to go!
