[ > ] Strategy:

Cut the crap. Be ruthless. Shift from the Hennessy Hammock 4Season Explorer Zip XL setup to the Durston X-Mid 2 Solid as the primary shelter for long European routes where trees aren't guaranteed. Pair it with a Sea to Summit Ultralight XR pad, a Sawyer Squeeze Water Filter (including the Sawyer Cleaning Coupling Blue Ring), and LEKI Sherpa Trekking Poles. Upgrade to a Fenix HM53R Garnet headlamp.

Note on the knife: Stick with the Morakniv Companion but mark it as "Worn Weight". It lives on the belt, not in the pack, providing unmatched utility without dragging down the base weight.

No base layers. Dead weight for 6 - 9 months. T-shirt + Down Jacket + Windbreaker is enough. If hitting high Alps, buy a €3 thrift fleece and donate it after.
