This is an attempt to create the most robust & usable 1-oz gear list I could for 1-2 night trips. Obviously, compromises must be made to keep the weight this low:

  • This kit is good down to temps of about 80F, preferably above 80F, but also not below 80F.
  • There is no protection against bugs other than permethrin treated clothes
  • There is no protection against rain, but I would not want to use this kit if it ends up raining
  • This list only applies if I can sleep on deep pine duff
