Notes from this trip:

  • Sleeping bag: Used mostly unzipped as nights were not cold (except 1 night in base camp ironically)
  • Rain pants: Did not use, but would still take due to weather unpredictability
  • Base layer bottoms: Did not use, would rely on rain pants if needed
  • Liner gloves: Did not use, would still take
  • Socks: I took Darn Tough lightweight hiker and midweight hiker and preferred the lightweight
  • Water bladder: Did not use, but was good insurance
  • Battery bank: The Energizer bank was way too heavy and only took it because I thought the 10000 would not be enough and I borrowed this at the last minute. It turned out I needed it because 10,000 mAh was not enough. A 20,000 mAh capacity total would have been ideal.
  • Patagonia Quandary convertible pants - loved these
  • Gaiters: I liked the idea but did not use them. Mainly wore pants and did not seem to have a problem with getting things into the collar of my shoes.
  • Chair: liked having it
