Hello fellow Hiker!

Welcome to a list of all the gear I plan to take on my 2021 Thru-hike of the Superior Hiking Trail!

While I am fairly experienced in camping and overnight hiking trips, I have yet to complete a thru-hike, and as a Minnesota native the Superior Hiking Trail was an obvious choice to get started with. Going South-bound, the 310 mile (500 km) trial runs from the Canadian border along the north shore of Lake Superior, through Duluth, terminating near the Wisconsin border. I intend to complete the trip on my own, resupplying every 4-5 days in towns along the length of the trail. Weather along the trail can be fairly variable, even in the summer, so I expect temperatures of around 60-85 ºF (15-30 ºC) during the day, and 35-55 ºF (2-13 ºC) at night, with light rain. I expect bugs to be an issue, and so all gear will be treated with permethrin, plus icaridin and a bug head net will be kept close at hand.

Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you out on the trial!
