This Esbit kit is designed to be as minimal as possible for use in XUL or SUL kits. I use 4g Esbit tablets, one per cook, and stop short of a full boil since anything more would be unnecessary. Because Esbit is sensitive to airflow, the setup depends on careful wind protection and an improvised pot stand, made either from natural, found materials or from elements of my kit—in this case, dual-use tent stakes.
My standard fuel ration is one 4g Esbit tablet per day.
